Franchise Owner
The Mougrabi and Must families collaborated to open the Young Chef Academy sites in Strongsville and Solon, Ohio, where teamwork serves as the cornerstone. From a friendship of more than a decade, Sy and Tanya Mougrabi & Ray and Jen Must and family have shared family vacations, sporting events, family meals and more. So, when the Young Chefs Academy opportunity presented itself in 2019, they decided to become business owners together. Emphasizing the concept of “Family”, YCA has become an extended part of both families. Ray and Jen have three amazing children, while Sy and Tanya have two awesome kids that all share a similar friendship, as well as their furry friends. The Mougrabi’s Lebanese ancestry and the Must family’s Italian roots have, along with a diverse spectrum of prior experience, including management, sales, marketing, finance, and education amongst the four has produced a nice balance in their working relationship. Both sets of parents are extremely active in their communities, whether it’s through their roles as youth sports coaches (in football, soccer, and baseball), organizers for local church food drives, serving on local zoning and HOA boards, and holding positions as PTO vice president and youth soccer program treasurer. As the proprietors of YCA, they have been able to establish local scholarships for high school graduates looking to pursue a career in the culinary arts, sponsor food drives, make donations to area charities and schools, and participate in civic activities (such as: Crocker Park Day at the Chalet & Pinecrest).

Founder & CEO
Founder and CEO, Julie Burleson, established Young Chefs® Academy in 2003 with the vision of cultivating/serving children’s strong interest in the culinary arts. It has grown with locations throughout the US to be a welcoming environment that provides a “real” setting so that the students can take what they learn at YCA™ to their own homes.
“The kitchen is the pulse of the home… where we learn about life and each other,” says Burleson. “Young Chefs Academy nourishes those values and gives kids an innovative environment to learn and thrive. In this busy world, what could be better?”
Over the years our franchisees have been showcased across some of the largest networks, which is a testament to our values and community activities.
